Here at The Scunnered Lady, we believe that a gift should be more than something wrapped in paper and handed over with a hopeful smile. It should make someone laugh, feel appreciated, discover something wonderful or, ideally, ask, “Where on earth did you find that?”
And that, dear visitor, is precisely why we’re here.
A Little Something Different
Our Gift Shop is an ever-changing collection of beautiful, practical, unusual and occasionally ridiculous discoveries.
You’ll find everything from luxurious candles and thoughtfully designed accessories to charming homewares, quirky keepsakes and gifts that don’t take themselves too seriously.
Some pieces are our very own Scunnered Lady creations, designed with a little imagination and a healthy appreciation for life’s absurdities. Others are carefully selected finds from independent makers, specialist suppliers and brands we think deserve a little attention.
We have a particular fondness for things that look considerably more expensive than they are. Although, naturally, we also appreciate the occasional extravagance.
Made with a Little Character
The Scunnered Lady has never been particularly interested in being ordinary.
Our own collections will reflect the personalities, stories and peculiar inhabitants of the Retreat.
Expect beautifully scented candles, distinctive designs, illustrated gifts, stationery and the occasional creation inspired by our residents.
After all, a household containing a distinguished butler, an opinionated parrot, a mischievous Westie and a ginger cat was never going to produce an entirely conventional gift collection.
Grayson insists that everything should be presented with impeccable elegance.
Rab the Gab McSquawk has offered to supervise quality control.
We have respectfully declined his assistance.

We hope to cater for both.

A Shop with a Story
The Gift Shop is part of a much larger world.
Throughout The Scunnered Lady Retreat, you’ll encounter rooms dedicated to everything from books, beauty and gardening to gaming, creativity, family life and a little well-deserved calm.
The Gift Shop brings those interests together, offering discoveries inspired by the things we explore throughout the Retreat.
A beautiful book might lead you towards the Library. A particularly splendid candle might be destined for the Boudoir. And a clever little gadget could find its natural home in the Bothy.
Everything has its place.
Although we’re still trying to establish where Rab belongs.
