Whether greeting visitors at the front door, accompanying guests on a stroll through the gardens or settling down for a well-earned nap, Dougal reminds us that happiness is often found in life’s simplest moments.
Gentle, loyal and endlessly optimistic, Dougal has a knack for brightening even the gloomiest of days. He asks for very little in return—perhaps a kind word, a scratch behind the ears and, if you’re feeling generous, the occasional biscuit. Around the retreat, it’s widely accepted that a visit isn’t truly complete until you’ve been welcomed by Dougal.
